Despite the cold weather, around 900 people participated during the ZOA Walk4Water event in order to provide clean drink water for Afghanistan. KEIHAN Foundation supported this event by setting up an ‘Afghan Village’ where the participants followed different cultural workshops. They had the opportunity to learn how to dance the Attan (traditional dance) and how to make their own kites. There was also a possibility to let their hands be beautifully decorated with henna. During the day, colorful Afghan clothes were showcased gracefully on the catwalk. Last but not least the participants could relax while drinking tea and enjoying music at the Chai-corner.
A well deserved thank you to the musicians Sohrab Aziz and Jahad Saheli for providing us with live music and their overall support since the beginning.
KEIHAN Foundation would also like to express its gratitude to all the hard working volunteers who came from various places in the Netherlands to lend us a helping hand. Their great effort and good spirit is what made the ‘Afghan Village’ a success!
